Boos Block Walnut Edge-Grain Cutting Board, 20 × 15 × 1.5 in
An edge-grain American walnut board from John Boos, a Missouri butcher-block maker founded in 1887. The 20 × 15 × 1.5 inch slab is laminated from straight walnut staves, finished with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax. The 1.5 inch thickness keeps the board flat under daily knife work and lets it be resurfaced multiple times over a decade or more.
About this product
Walnut sits in the middle of the cutting-board hardness range — softer than maple, harder than cherry — which is forgiving on knife edges while still resisting cut marks. Hand-wash only; do not put in the dishwasher. Reapply board cream every few weeks for the first year, then monthly.
